PINDN
PINDN is a Kwakwa̲ka̲'wakw and Nuu-Cha-Nulth M.C born on lək̓ʷəŋən Territory (A.K.A Victoria B.C) who in over 4 years of recovery from alcoholism now has found immense healing in expressing himself through lyricism in the genre of Hip-Hop which he views to be an innovative, creative-native continuation of their nation’s oldest tradition of storytelling.
PINDN started performing in the Summer 2022 and since then has shared their songs on various stages and venues in Victoria, Vancouver, Duncan, Alert Bay and the village of Kingcome.
He aims to honour the roots of their culture and old school Hip Hop while sharing their stories through rhyme which make statements about healing through the intergenerational, traumatic effects of colonization, honouring their west coast lineage while also embracing the wild spirit of tricksterism and having a few laughs and a good time while doing so.
Although PINDN has no music out online currently they earned a grant from the First People’s Cultural Council last Summer to record and release their debut album entitled ‘Spirits Back’ set to be released soon later this year.
