Introducing Elbow Kiss

Elbow Kiss is a testament to love for the parts maybe not loved enough, at least that’s what it feels like on the ears. A hug you didn’t know you needed, or a kiss on the elbow right where it belongs. The project first launched onto the Victoria scene at Good Party 2023 and has quickly gathered a loyal following from anyone tuned to the pulse of honest, wonderful music.

Through both video and release, it’s clear that Elbow Kiss has spent the last decade quietly perfecting the craft. Writing, refining, and now collaborating across Victoria’s arts community in a way that uplifts everyone in the room. This is a creative storm blowing through our city at a time when honesty, vulnerability, and raw power feel more important than ever.

On stage, Elbow Kiss is radiant. Off stage, Em can be found supporting and collaborating with artists of every genre across the city. There’s a rare kind of joy that runs through their work, a joy that asks the listener to slow down, to feel more. Drawing inspiration from the sea to the stars, their songs drift between love and longing, gently plucking guitar, harp, and heartstrings. The result: a sound that carries you to your favourite seaside field or sacred forest path, softly dredging up deep roots of yearning, nostalgia, and heartbreak. This imagery is media realized in their stunning music video for Curtain Calls

Now, with new material on the horizon, Elbow Kiss is entering a strikingly personal chapter. Em is currently recording a DIY tape EP. As described by Em:

“This project is going to be a self-produced resonant and shadowy vessel for a series of meditative and cyclical songs and spells from multi-media collaborative performances at unique locations such as the First Met Church hall, and a concrete stairwell in the Vertigo sessions with Ministry of Casual Living.“

Latest Releases

Em’s next single, “No Way Around,” is set for release this November and promises a haunting and intimate listen to deepen the spell. And for those following Em’s other creative endeavours, Ghost Darling will soon be recording an album at Risqué Disque in Cedar, a collaboration that’s sure to shimmer with the same honesty and grace that define everything they touch.

If you’re not sold already, you must watch the full Gigpit Live Session to find love songs to ghosts and an interview that says it all with Koby Andrews from Freak Frequencies.

Em's Local Favourites

Any Victoria or Vancouver artists that you want to shout out?

"I'd love to shout out horseback Jesus... literally Victoria's hottest band right now. Also shout-out to Elise Le Blanc for being the island's queer country sweetheart. As for Vancouver artists I love: Troll Dolly, Lilex and the Apocolips, Wallgrin, Chaya Harvey, Elisa thorn... that's just off the top of my head but there are so many more!"
