On April 17, two incredible songwriters, plus me also, will share the stage at THE Astoria, backed by some of the most accomplished musicians in the city. You may have seen me perform with Brass Camel or seen my Soul Funk project “The Rubberband”… but if you’ve never heard my original music you’re in for a real treat. My band is excellent and play my songs so beautifully. You COULD have a religious experience if you take mushrooms at exactly the right time. Same goes with Maria and her jazz gigs across Vancouver; you might have heard her jazz.. but have you heard her pizzazz? Maria’s songs are so well written and the perfect blend of comforting melodies, intricate parts and unexpected yet satisfying musical detours. Plus, her voice is velvet. WIARDA is probably the coolest person you haven’t met yet. Her songs are happy little clouds that rain smile-inducing lemonade. She is an incredibly entertaining performer and it’s an honour to share the stage with such a unique artist.
