Curious about guitar pedals but not sure where to start?

Join The Open Studios and Long & McQuade Musical Instruments for a hands-on introduction to the world of effects pedals.

Learn the basics of common effects, signal chain, power, pedalboard setup, and how different pedals can be combined to shape your sound.

Participants will get plenty of hands-on time experimenting with a variety of pedals and gear, with expert guidance from Long & McQuade staff.

The workshop will also feature a Universal Audio (UA) Pedals showcase, giving participants a chance to hear and try a selection of UA effects in action.

Whether you’re building your first pedalboard or want to better understand the gear you already own, this workshop is designed to be practical, approachable, and fun for guitarists of all experience levels.

11:00 AM–3:00 PM

Cost: $15

Location: The Open Studios, 634 Humboldt St., Victoria

*Although it's not mandatory, participants are encouraged to bring their guitar, pedals, amp and headphones with 1/4" adaptor for testing out pedals!
