About the show

"Come listen in and celebrate the release of The Oldest Man I Know's new 4 song EP "Subcultural Appropriation" at the Rebel Garage!

We will be sharing the stage with our-ride-or-die, the one and only:SHOREFOX:Scout Shorefox is a queer folk singer/songwriter hailing from the traditional territories of the Cowichan, Tsawwassen, Tsawout, Malahat and Tseycum on Salt Spring Island. Scout”s music is a foot-stomping celebration of the musical harmony between love lost, fights won, and the beauty found in the fringes. An eclectic fusion of up-tempo rock/folk rhythyms paired with soul searching lyrics and wit.

And of course: THE OLDEST MAN I KNOWThe Oldest Man I Know is a summer camp for under privileged youth to learn and experience musi- wait wait... thats not right..The Oldest Man I Know is an all acoustic trio based in Victoria, British Columbia. They play folk music that is heavily inspired by modern alternative music. Taylor Esch plays banjo with a traditional Appalachian mountain technique known as ‘frailing’, and also plays an instrument known as the mandocello. Andi White’s fiddle style has been developed during her time busking across Canada. Taylor Hart plays slap style double bass. We call him ‘Smelly’ to avoid confusion
